Drywall Finishing & Repair
Most drywall complaints are finishing complaints. The board was never the problem.
Butt joints that telegraph under a raking light. Corners that were never truly straight. A patch that reads as a different plane from three metres away. None of that is the board failing. It is the finish.
Levels, and when they matter
The industry defines finish levels from 0 to 5. Most residential work is specified at Level 4, which is adequate under flat paint in ordinary light. Level 5 adds a skim coat across the entire surface, and it is the only level that holds up under gloss or semi-gloss paint, large glazing, wall-washing light fixtures, or any polished plaster finish going on afterward.
We finish to Level 5 as a matter of course wherever any of those conditions apply, and we will tell you when it is not worth paying for.
Renovation work
Matching an existing texture is the difference between a repair you can see and one you cannot. We match knockdown, orange peel and hand stipple, and we strip popcorn ceilings back to a flat finish, which is one of the more common calls we get on houses from the sixties and seventies.
Water damage gets treated as a water problem first. We cut out to sound material, verify the substrate is dry, and re-tape rather than skimming over a stain and handing back a ceiling that will bloom again in six weeks.
On site
Dust containment on occupied properties, surfaces left primer-ready, and the site left clean. Sanding drywall is a filthy operation and how a contractor handles that is a reasonable proxy for how they handle everything else.
